The EOSC Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) was open for public consultation, involving stakeholders from inside and outside the EOSC Community. This document provides general guidelines to help develop the work programmes for EOSC in Horizon Europe.

Under the scope of the BE OPEN project, CERTH-HIT (BE OPEN coordinator), participated in this collective effort, providing feedback on the basis of the knowledge gathered and produced.

BE OPEN agrees with the principles and action areas proposed in the SRIA, yet pointed out some important gaps and obstacles that need to be addressed, in the particular case of the transport sector.

On Action Areas/ It is very difficult to engage private stakeholders in transport. Due to competition they avoid sharing data/information. Therefore emphasis should be given on initiatives in public transport.

On the Priorities/ The majority of transport stakeholders are aware of Open Science. However, they admit low interest in promoting, contributing and adopting an “open approach” in the transport sector. This indicates that a top-down approach is recommended for implementing Open Science in transport research.
